If it isn’t here, text us and ask. We’d rather answer an awkward question now than have it turn up on moving day.
Local moves are hourly, starting when we arrive at your door, not when we leave our yard. Out-of-state moves are a flat price agreed before we load. Either way you get the number in writing first, and it is the same number on the invoice.
It runs long at the same hourly rate. No overtime multiplier, no second-trip fee, no surprise line at the bottom. If we read the job badly, that is on us, not on you.
Not for a local move — you pay when it is done. Long-haul jobs take 25% to hold the date, with the balance on delivery, because that truck is off the board for several days.
A week is comfortable for a local move, two to three weeks for anything out of state. The end of the month and the end of summer go first. If you are in a bind, call anyway — we have moved people the same week more than once.
Yes, and claims are handled by us, not handed to a broker. Basic valuation is included; if you have a piece worth declaring separately, tell us before we wrap it and we will put it on the paperwork.
Either. We will pack the whole place, or just the kitchen and the fragile things and leave the rest to you. Most people do the second one, and it is usually the right call — the kitchen is where the breakage lives.
Anything flammable or under pressure — propane, petrol, paint thinner, pool chemicals, ammunition. Open food and anything alive travels with you, not with us. Plants are fine locally and a bad idea across a state line. If you are unsure about something, ask before moving day rather than on it.
Tell us the floor and whether there is a lift when you ask for the quote, because it changes the crew and the hours. Narrow streets and tight garages we handle with a shuttle. Some buildings want a certificate of insurance or a reserved elevator — give us the management contact and we will sort it.
Yes. A piano, a safe, a gym rack, a marble table nobody else would touch. It is often the one call people cannot get anyone to take, and it is the one we say yes to.
Yes — overnight on the truck, or longer in storage. Say so up front and we will load in the order that makes it come back out sensibly.
Same truck, same crew, door to door. Nothing gets transferred to another carrier in a warehouse halfway there, which is where most long-distance horror stories start.
Tell us as soon as you know. Move the date free up to 48 hours out on a local job. Escrow slips, closings move, that is normal — we would rather reschedule than have you paying for a truck you cannot use.
No forms with eleven fields, no callback window. Text us the question — or what's moving and where — and a person answers, usually inside the hour.
Dramatised. The answers are real, the customers are made up.
